Maybe it isn't. But...maybe it's worth thinking about. What you'd want to do afterwards.
[Noé hasn't had such....freedom. Such a question. He'd always just done as his Teacher had told him, asked of him. It was that simple, really. But he can imagine the prospect might be confusing. Scary, perhaps. If Vanitas was so focused on vengeance. To consider whatever might come next after he'd managed it.]
If you say so. Don't worry. I have other coats. You can keep that one if you want.
[If Vanitas said he took it from a vampire he encountered, he wouldn't be lying. Just not telling the whole truth that Noé had willingly given it to him. There might be some blood on it, but it's still enough to keep Vanitas warmer for now. Noé isn't even considering that the Chasseurs would probably have a field day if they were to make use of it and discover his particular ability somehow.]
[He's clung to that one thing for so long that now the thought of not having it is enough to make him shiver with uncertainty, even through the extra layer of clothing that's been presented to him. What next...? What after? He doesn't even begin to know. He'd just continue with the Chasseurs, he assumed. They weren't exactly family, but they were all he had.]
You sure...? I tried to kill you, you know.
[He seems somewhat incredulous that Noé would just hand over his coat like that, but then, this has been one weird encounter from start to finish. He shouldn't be too shocked that this vampire is breaking all his expectations yet again. It'd be easy enough to say the coat is a trophy from the vampire he attacked, given it has a bit of blood on it already. Though thankfully Vanitas has no inclination to tell his superiors about Noe or his abilities. The man did him a favor, after all, and he honors his word.]
[Noé says with a shrug. He doesn't feel the cold as acutely as Vanitas. And the coat would need a decent clean anyway. He doesn't really mind if Vanitas chooses to keep it. Or at least to wear it back to keep himself warm, anyway. Especially if the other was more prone to illness or the like.
Neither is Noé even considering the potential danger of leaving the coat with Vanitas. If anyone else got their hands on it or something. He just figures it is one way to help. Vanitas had done his best to try and treat him after attacking him, after all.]
[Thankfully Vanitas is wise in the ways of domestic affairs, so he'll likely be able to get most of the blood out of the fabric. For now, he snuggles underneath the thick fabric, still warm from Noé wearing it. It's... kind of nice, to be wearing something where he can feel the heat from another body. It's something he hasn't felt in years, given the church's strict rules regarding intimacy.
You know the ones you encounter are more likely curse bearers? Right? Not all of us behave that way. Even they don't, usually....it's just that they've lost themselves.
[He figures that Vanitas is aware of the curse bearers. But even so. He can't help feeling a little defensive. A little empathetic to their situation. Probably because of what he went through with Louis. Still, he can't say that he would have expected this, with a Chasseur. He glances between the view of the city below and Vanitas when the other leans in against him, tilting his head to give Vanitas space instinctively.]
I see... I was aware they were more violent than most, but given what happened to my family, you can hopefully understand where my hesitation to trust in your kind comes from.
[Because they couldn't all have been curse bearers, right? The ones he hunts as a Chasseur tend towards the more feral, frenzied side, whereas from what he can recall of that night many years ago, it had been a more calculated, deliberate attack upon his troupe. It's strange, conversing with a being he hated with all of his might not an hour ago. Yet Vanitas is nothing if not versatile, willing to change his mind as new information comes to light. He's not obsessed, like so many of those in the church.]
Hm. Yes. I just....wouldn't want you to think we're all like that. But I get it.
[Still. It isn't as if it is so simple for Noé. Given he would likely have far more than just one vampire to contend with if he were to want vengeance for his family, his clan. He sighs, raising a hand to absently brush some hair from his face as he takes in the view from the rooftop, wincing slightly at the movement. He can't say he expected to have an encounter like this with a Chasseur. But maybe knowing one of them might not be the worst thing.]
You should probably head off soon. Otherwise, your Chasseur friends might worry.

Sighing a bit, he leans against Noé, frowning.]
...you're truly not a bad sort, for a vampire.
