Kara reaches into her pocket and takes out the rather crumpled set of documents. She unfolds it and holds it out in front of him (both of them) to look at. ]
Of course, here you go. [ She lets him read the marriage certificate as thoroughly as he'd like, but after a few moments, she lets out a thinly veiled nervous chuckle, and her free hand lightly scratches at her cheek. ] Man! We really are married, huh? No fanfare, no nothing... I guess it really is that easy to get hitched...
[Honestly, it's a damn shock and only thanks to the hangover that Vanitas hasn't fled in abject fear of having a wife. If he's allergic to love, he must be downright intolerant of marriage. So while his head throbs and aches like the dickens, he runs a careful hand through his hair before reaching out to tilt the crumpled piece of paper towards him for a better look.]
Huh... Looks like my signature... [He then skims over the rest of the certificate, stating that by law they are now, in fact, husband and wife. He may also be steadily turning a very delicate shade of white...] It... sure seems that way. But I-- I just can't believe I'd do anything like that... What do we do now?
[ Kara takes a moment to give his question some serious thought. Who knew that all it took was taking out a piece of paper to get her to drop the smiley face. It actually does bother her a lot, more than she's willing to let on, for reasons that aren't all that different from Vanitas'. ]
I don't know? We give it a few days and then divorce?! Is that even how any of this works?!
[Hoping that she had some answer that was better than his own muddled thoughts of annulment, he groans softly and buries his face in his hands with a heavy sigh. So much for this being an easy problem to solve, it seems. He rapidly shakes his head, a keening whine coming from his throat.]
I dunno...! I've never been married before! Hell, I'm not even sure if my parents were married!

[So he says, but his cheeks remain red and he looks defeated, shoulders sagging.]

[Banana freed from the confines of it's peel, he slowly starts nibbling, and reaches back for the water to help down the fruit.] How can you be so damn pushy though? [Since he feels miserable and merely wants to hide under the covers.]
[ D'aw, look how grumpy he is. But she doesn't say anything else, and instead opts to take a banana for herself. She starts peeling it and is about to take a bite until- ]
Pushy? Ah, you're surprised because I'm hungover, too, aren't you? [ Yeah, that's fair. She laughs dryly and bites into her banana. After some nibbling: ] I dunno. I'm kinda used to just pushing past pain...or something like that. Sure is starting to kick in, though.
[Last thing he needs is to listen to someone go on about his foibles. He nods at her question, humming a bit around a bite of banana.]
All I want to do is crawl back in bed and sleep. [He's really not good with alcohol, or its accompanying affects. Which just leads him to sighing at how damn willful she is.] At least we're in the same boat, generally speaking. Filled with regrets, no doubt.

[ But before she can finish her sentence, she happens to zonk out like a light. Clearly she'd been barely holding on during this whole ordeal. Her head drops down onto the table and she just. Sleeps. Like a person who hasn't gotten proper sleep in a while.

[He boggles at her suddenly zoning out, but then, given the crazy night they had, it's probably not all that surprising? So he simply gets up and hefts her into his arms, then moves her to Noé's bed, tucking her in under the covers with a sigh.]

[He mutters to himself as he seat himself on the foot of the bed, slowly leaning over until he's laying next to her legs, allowing himself to relax just a bit. It's silly, but... maybe if they just rest their eyes for a bit, they'll be fine. And have a better idea of how to handle their situation later...]
[ Kara sleeps pretty soundly, and unless Noé comes back and forcibly wakes her up, she's out for a few hours. Completely unaware of where Vanitas is resting, she may or may not kick him lightly, given that this is one of her bad sleep habits.
Eventually, she wakes up and groans. She opens her eyes blearily before she slowly sits up. ]
Mm...? Where - [ And that's when she realizes she's on a bed, tucked under the covers. She places a hand over her mouth and mutters to herself: ] Ah... How embarrassing...
[Thankfully that's enough time for him to get some much needed rest, too. Even her kicks aren't enough to throw him off, as he merely clings to her a little tighter. Not enough to wake her, but just so he doesn't get bonked in the head.
Only once she starts to stir does Vanitas too move slightly. A soft sigh escapes him in his sleep, and he murmurs quietly if incomprehensibly. Only one word is discernible.]
[ She sits up and realizes that her husband is clinging on relatively tightly to her, and her cheeks burn pink, simply because he's closer than she anticipated he'd be upon waking...
But the name says it all. He's dreaming of...someone else, probably? A former lover? Hmm. She has half a mind to put a hand on his shoulder and gently shake him, but she knows how awful he felt, so she opts to lay back down and let him rest. ]
[Finally, Vanitas too stirs and begins to rouse himself, lifting his head up and blinking blearily around him. It wasn't the most comfortable rest he's gotten, but he still feels better for having slept some more. The throbbing of his head has gone, and he no longer feels quite so sick as before.
Though once he realizes he's leaning on someone, he jerks upwards with a noise, head whirling towards her. Recognition dawns then, allowing him to relax a bit.]
