But she opens the door and peeks her head in. Yeah, that sure is a semi-familiar face, so this is probably the Vanitas she got betrothed to. Soon, Kara steps in, and gently closes the door behind her. ]

[ Neither does she, to be fair...but alas... Keeping his question in mind, Kara sets a bunch of bananas on the countertop, and she scans the room for a kitchen. ]

While she steadies her nerves, so too does he, to the point that when she enters, he merely blinks curiously at her, expression one of dawning recognition. Yeah, he vaguely recalls her from last night, although he still doesn't remember anything about marriage, thank you!]

[Which is to say, she looks better than him, but he's being obstinate. At least he nods towards the bathroom; no kitchen, but there's water there at least.]

[ She heads into the bathroom on cue and grabs a cup - one of those that are meant for toothbrushes, normally - and fills it with some tap water. A minute passes and she emerges with two cups of water, one of which she hands to Vanitas once she makes her way over to him with a practiced smile on her face. ]
Don't be mistaken, I'm not one for marriage, either. [ She says it with a little shrug before she takes a seat across of him, on one of the guest chairs in his room. She's quick to take a sip of her water. ] Let alone with a man I don't even know. I'm sure we're on the same page.

I do have a signed document, with what I assume is both of our signatures. I mean, I know which one mine is, obviously, but...yeah. You wanna see it?
[For once, the good doctor makes for a more obedient patient, waiting calmly for her to return and hand him the glass of water, which he obediently sips at slowly. If it'll help, he'll try anything at least once. Thankfully the number of times he's been drunk can be counted on one hand. Although that does make this a more trying ordeal.]

[Finally, Vanitas too stirs and begins to rouse himself, lifting his head up and blinking blearily around him. It wasn't the most comfortable rest he's gotten, but he still feels better for having slept some more. The throbbing of his head has gone, and he no longer feels quite so sick as before.
Though once he realizes he's leaning on someone, he jerks upwards with a noise, head whirling towards her. Recognition dawns then, allowing him to relax a bit.]
